Marblehead Memories Digital Archive
So you have a story, photo, and/or artifact about Marblehead during the 20th century? You can use this form to share the information and digital images with us, and we’ll get it added to the Marblehead Memories digital archive of the Marblehead Museum. You’ll just need to provide the digital images (tiff files are preferred) and/or written stories (PDF or Word doc), along with some information.
If you need guidance on how to digitize your objects please check out these guidelines on Scanning Your Personal Collections from the Library of Congress.
A few disclaimers:
* The stories, photos, and/or object must be related to Marblehead during the 20th century.
* We cannot accept images of any objects or photos that are under copyright or that you do not own.
* Your submissions must meet our Submission Guidelines.
* You must sign the Memorandum of Digital Rights to participate. You can fill this out electronically or print, fill out, and send back this form.
Please note that we reserve the right to reject content that does not meet the goals of this project or our collection goals.
So here is what you need to do to participate:
1) You’ll need to set up a folder in a file sharing service like Dropbox or Google Drive. If you’re not sure how to do this, email us and we’ll send you a link to a folder you can use.
2) You’ll need to ensure that you have scanned or photographed all the objects you wish to include in the archive.
3) Download and sign the Memorandum of Digital Rights. This can be done electronically or you can print, sign, and scan it.
4) Once it is signed, upload it to a file sharing service along with the Marblehead-related digital images you want to include.
5) Fill out this form. At the end you’ll be asked to provide a link to the folder containing the Memorandum of Digital Rights (see above) and your digital images.
And that is it! We’ll try to get it added to the Marblehead Museum's Marblehead Memories Archive as quickly as possible, but please note this may take some time.
