Marblehead Snapshots: The World of Fred Litchman
2023–2024 Exhibit · 170 Washington Street
Fred Litchman picked up his camera during one of the most dramatic periods in Marblehead’s history — the 1890s through World War I — capturing the town as residents rebuilt from two devastating fires and transformed themselves into a vacation destination.
This exhibit features 50 of Fred’s photographs, alongside interactive features including a scavenger hunt, videos that bring the images to life, and a recreation of Litchman’s own desk where visitors can flip through his photos and read his mail.
