Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it. Since stories are our best teachers, there’s no better way to explore history than through fiction. This four-week workshop will cover topics ranging from research to world-building, from creating complex characters to balancing fact with fiction. Bring a notebook, a pencil, and a story idea!

Robin Taylor spent her childhood with her nose in a book, so no one was at all surprised when she grew up to be a storyteller—first, on the small screen, producing episodes of HGTV’s House Hunters; later, spinning elaborate bedtime stories for her kids. These days, she writes novels, including Good Bones—a haunted house mystery set in a town suspiciously like Marblehead. In the summer, Robin can be found telling stories about the Jeremiah Lee Mansion, where she serves as a volunteer tour guide.
