Many of the Lee Mansion's rare and exceptional features can still be seen because the Marblehead Historical Society's ongoing committment. Learn about the people who made it their mission to preserve this magnificent colonial Georgian home.
The centerpiece of the exhibit is a set of architectural drawings by Marblehead architect Bruce Greenwald. Students from Boston University's Center for Digital imaging created a computer animation from Greenwald's drawings.
Town Historian, Bette Hunt, who served as Executive Director of the Historical Society for twelve years, is featured in a special video presentation by local filmmaker, Joan Goloboy.
Historic images of the interiors of the house in 1909 and shortly after show rooms as they looked early in this century. Other visual displays show some of the major conservation projects undertaken by the Society in recent decades, and a gallery handbook notes some of principal accomplishments over the century.
